It has been a crazy, crazy week.
On Monday night, Jason and I tested for our next belts (my yellow and his green). We both passed! After we all tested we got to break boards. They were pretty thick - about 3/4 of an inch I’d say. I tried to bend one and couldn’t. Anyway, we all broke the boards by kicking them - wee! I was really excited to do it - it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Well, I broke it but unfortunately I broke my foot in the process. So now I’m lugging a big boot cast around. BOO. Anyway - I got a belt and the board got nothin’!
On Thursday my bus didn’t show up, so in my cast I managed to hobble back to my old bus stop which takes me to the Metro, took the Metro, and then took another bus to work. I won’t go into all of the details but it was just a disaster. After initially waiting 30 mins for the bus that never showed up, it took me another hour and a half to actually get to work. I was not happy and my foot was throbbing. I vowed to take a taxi until my monthly commuting allowance ran out after that. Luckily, the office is starting to telecommute, so that will make my life much easier. I’m telecommuting tomorrow and Friday.
I’m just now starting to upload and print my pictures from Australia. I am VERY behind in scrapbooking. There is no excuse. All of my Australia memorabilia is shoved into a huge accordion filing folder which is so full it has busted. Because I have SO MANY pictures (although not as many as I would like since I lost tons when my computer decided to eat them) and SO MUCH material to scrapbook I am a little bit intimidated. I’m going to bite the bullet here and start soon, though. I need to!
Rufus will be getting his first (since he’s been with us anyway) professional grooming on Tuesday night! I wash him every weekend, but he needs his undercoat blown out. I’m super excited because he has begun to shed like crazy since it’s been so hot. Last night Jason was out at Gary and Kathy’s dealing poker for Gary’s birthday while Rufus and I relaxed at home. It started thundering pretty heavily and Rufus was pretty wide-eyed and scared. While I was holding and petting him I pulled his excess hair out… and made a huge pile on the floor. Not very attractive. So, to the groomer he is going!
Here he is chewing his bone under his bed. He just doesn’t care about anything as long as he has his bone
